Informing Experience
Asking how Architecture could be a catalyst for awareness while on a PhD Scholarship at USYD led me on a very personal experience in action-based circles for community healing on the Freedom Ride in 2015. This inspired action beyond the physical Architecture into a more structurally intimate journey of the relational and inner structural realities. As I was an invited member of the Design Team for the Anthroposcene Transition Projects (UTS) I obtained certification as a Warm Data host with the International Bateson Institute. This methodology enables meaningful dialogues for systemic change and an opening to deeper awareness in community. It was highly complimentary to also obtain certification as a Systemic Constellation Therapist, This modality honours past and present patterns and energies at play, in order to bring a greater conscious connection for our future as a necessary component for creating strong vibrant community.
Two decades of teaching Design as a trained Architect in Universities, combine my love of deep relational design as advocacy through activism. This unique ecology has evolved in the co-design and co-founding of community grassroots organisations and a number of events which raise community awareness. The generous gift of the Indigenous, First Nations and original custodians to the people of Australia; The Uluru Statement from the Heart has been a deep inspiration. Experience in marginal communities and the privilege of working with people with Ability Challenges as a trauma-informed practitioner has strengthened an innately compassionate resilience. These experiences combine with my personal experiences and Light Energy work to form Sacred Activism.
